GREEK DANCERS:

Our Greek Dancers of New Jersey / New York, consists of a group of 5+ professional young adults who are Greek-Americans, and are dedicated to perpetuating their heritage through enthusiastic performances of the regional folk dances of Greece.

Their traditional music and folk dance is representative of a cross-section of these diverse regions, past and present. Our group always performs in a authentic ethnic dress and their wardrobe represents many regions from which the dances originated, including: Dodecanesa, Crete, Cyprus, Epiros, Macedonia, Thrace, the Peloponnese, Epiros, the various island groups; and Pontos, Cappadocia, and Ikonion in Asia Minor.

PRIVATE INSTRUMENT LESSONS:

BOUZOUKI LESSONS BY KONSTANTINOS REVELAS:

Konstantinos soon became strongly attracted to the magnetic energy of Greek music and began learning the roads of the bouzouki and various other musical instruments. He has collaborated with musicians and artists from around the world, and has performed everywhere from large stages to small taverns, and from city streets to sailboats on the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas.

His electrifying improvisations and soulful melodies capture the heart of each listener. Konstantinos draws inspiration from Bouzouki artists and legends such as his father Demetris, George Soffos, Jordan Filippidis, Jack Gregory Halikias, John & Nikos Tatasopoulos, Vasilis Tsitsanis, Manolis Hiotis, and many other musical gems in his communities.
As a modern bouzouki artist, his philosophy is that of preserving the traditions and tonalities of the old world while progressing the boundaries of global sound and musical expression. In 2019 he introduced the Greek Bouzouki as a principal instrument of study at the Berklee College of Music, and is now performing, recording, and teaching in the United States.

PIANO LESSONS BY PAUL DENESIDIS:

Paul Denesidis is undoubtedly one of the outstanding talents of the tri-state area in the United States. Paul, who is also our band’s musical director and sound engineer, was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece.

At the age of 19, he obtained the Piano Diploma with first prize and continued his studies on sound engineering at IEK AKMH of Thessaloniki, Greece, which he gratuated with honors at the age of 22.

Paul has earned several prize-winning pianist awards in Greece throughout his 15+ years of professional performances and teaching, and also creates professional recordings for several popular music artists up to this day.

LAOUTO LESSONS BY VASILIS VASSILEIADIS:

Vasilis was born and raised in New York City and lived there until the age of seven, where he then moved with his family back to his motherland, Karpathos, Greece. Vasilis finished school on the island of Karpathos (graduated high school in 2004). He has been playing the laouto instrument (Greek lute) since the age of eight. Vasilis comes from a musical family, who started out playing Greek Island Folk Music and later extending his knowledge and repertoire to include genres from all parts of Greece, inclusive of contemporary styles. After graduating High School, Vasilis attended College in Crete and followed years of professional music classes, where he continued to build his musical skills, through Cretan and Island music. As his musical talents grew, Vasilis was given opportunities to perform with well-known Greek artists and performed in many events during radio shows as well as Greek TV channels. Vasilis returned to the United States in 2013 to pursue a career in accounting and has been a key factor of our band, Pelagos Entertainment, ever since its establishment. Vasili performs at all types of events across the United States with the rest of our band. He also teaches several young kids and adults the Laouto instrument and is also a very active member at several Greek Orthodox Churches in his area.

UP-LIGHTING:

Up-lighting is growing rapidly in popularity in the wedding scenes these days. It is hard not to notice lighting at wedding receptions and seeing how creative the couples can be. “What is up-lighting”, you may ask? Up-lighting is when lights are placed on the ground and aimed to project light off the wall or at a particular object. You can use up-lighting to enhance the whole reception and bring life to the room.
If you are thinking of adding spice and a personal touch to your wedding do not forget to add color. Bring some flare in with colored up-lighting and it is sure to add to the mood of your BIG day!
